Pals

Pals are caring adult volunteers who reach out from their hearts to mentor a child.

Pals” is a mentoring program in which trained adult volunteers are paired with children who benefit from one-on-one interaction with a caring, dependable adult.  Children are referred by school staff or parents.  This support helps boost the child's self-esteem and increases his or her chance of success in school.  Pals receive training and supervision from a CARE counselor and meet weekly with their assigned student at D.H. White Elementary and Riverview Middle School.  (Pals do not provide counseling.) This year an MFT intern, Celeste McCall, provided the training and supervision of  Pals.
