Saturday, Sept 10<FONT SIZE="1" COLOR="#000000" FACE="Arial" >th</FONT> was the annual Rio Vista CARE Gala and the scene of an outpouring of generosity that makes me grateful to live here.  </div> <div>      First I would like to thank the many selfless volunteers who work long hours to pull this off.  </div> <div>      Restaurants that donate food, and Wineries who supply a wonderful tasting of their unique and local wines are first among those who make this event a rousing success. </div> <div>      The Gala would not be possible without the businesses and individuals who become sponsors and we thank you for your generosity. </div> <div>      The office staff that work many extra hours before, during, and after the event.  </div> <div>      Our auctioneer, Joe Gates and his family Vanean and Jodie provided us with entertainment, excitement, and got bidders to open their hearts and pockets which of course was the point of the event. </div> <div>       We are also grateful for the participation of the Rio Vista High School Honor Society and Interact Club. 17 students volunteered their time at the Gala to help create the very successful event.</div> <div>      The CARE board worked behind the scenes doing a lot of the “dirty work,” hundreds of thankless jobs and minute details few know about but without which we have no event.</div> <div>      Finally the donors large and small, I will not embarrass you by naming names, you know who you are and you all must sleep well.  The people of this small community reach into their pockets time after time, year after year to support each other and those who, at the moment, need a little extra help.  It is truly heartwarming to see.  This town is still part of the “American dream,” people who reach out to find and fill the need without waiting for “someone else” to take care of it.  Neighbor helping neighbor is the ideal and here we come closer to that than any place I have ever lived.</div> <div>      As you can see there is no one individual who makes this work, it is all of you who become a piece of this giant effort.  </div> <div>      I personally wish to take this opportunity to thank you all for stepping out to the Gala and stepping up to fill the need and “CARE From the Heart”</div> <div> Linda Heune-Solomon</div> <div> 2011 Rio Vista CARE Gala chair</div> </tD> </tR> </TABLE></B></div> <bR> <div> <TABLE BORDER="0" CELLPADDING="2" CELLSPACING="1" WIDTH="956" BORDERCOLORLIGHT="#C0C0C0" BORDERCOLORDARK="#808080" FRAME="BOX" RULES="ALL" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0" > <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP ROWSPAN=2 HEIGHT= 412 ><NOBR><bR> <div> <B>Auctioneer Joe Gates </B></div> <div> <B>works the crowd</B></div> <div> <IMG SRC="0d23f8f0.jpg" border=0 width="319" height="399" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <bR> <div> <IMG SRC="0d650e00.jpg" border=0 width="336" height="224" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> <div> 50/50 winner</div> </NOBR></tD> <tD VALIGN=TOP WIDTH="592"><div> <IMG SRC="0d045960.jpg" border=0 width="325" height="406" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></div> </tD> </tR> <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP><NOBR><div> <B><IMG SRC="0d41b050.jpg" border=0 width="539" height="261" ALIGN="BOTTOM" HSPACE="0" VSPACE="0"></B></div> <div> Honor society students volunteer</div> <bR> </NOBR></tD> </tR> <tR> <tD VALIGN=TOP COLSPAN=2 HEIGHT= 314 WIDTH="948"><div> <B>The</B><B> evening</B><FONT SIZE="4" COLOR="#888888" FACE="Arial" > </FONT><FONT SIZE="4" COLOR="#555555" FACE="Arial" >began with a Strolling Supper and wine tasting at Trilogoy Vista Clubhouse,  Delicious tasting's for the supper were donated by nine local eateries: California Vegetable Specialties, Happy Harbor, Lira's Supermarket, Lucy's Cafe, Nine's Restaurant, Rio Vista Pizza Factory, Spindrift Restaurant and the Point Waterfront Restaurant.  Local wineries pouring for the event included: Bogle Vineyards, Dancing Coyote Wines Mokelumne Glen  Winery, Van Ruiten Family Vineyards, and Watts Winery.</FONT></div> <div> Prizes and auctions had something for everyone including an array of "silent" and "live" auction items.
